A new Radical Faerie sanctuary in Europe: the campaign for Valle de Sensaciones

Hadas del Sol is a growing community of Radical Faeries rooted in Iberia, co-creating gatherings, spirituality and connection in and with nature.

Valle de Sensaciones

In the mountains south of Granada sits Valle de Sensaciones, a secluded 30-acre valley where Faeries have gathered to share ritual, laughter and healing since 2018.

The owner has now offered to sell it to us. That's a rare thing, and it means we could keep the valley's magic safe and make it Europe's second collectively owned Faerie sanctuary.

Why a New Sanctuary?

Folleterre is Europe's only Radical Faerie sanctuary right now, and it's full. It can't take all the gathering requests it gets, and it has to close from November to April because the winters are too cold.

Valle de Sensaciones sits alongside it beautifully. Andalusia is mild enough to host gatherings all year, and being close to the Sierra Nevada means reliable water through summer and winter alike.

Buying Valle gives us somewhere to land all year: a place to rest, connect, look after each other and live communally when the rest of the world won't slow down.

The Campaign in Numbers

Hadas del Sol are pulling together to raise the money, so the land ends up held in collective stewardship by the non-profit Association of the Faeries of Southern Europe.

Because €15,000 is already set aside for admin and legal fees, every euro donated towards the €108,000 goal goes straight into buying the land.

Collective Stewardship and Local Ties

If we get there, the land will legally belong to the non-profit Association, so it can never be sold on for private profit or development. It stays a shared home, protected for the Faeries who come after us.

The valley sits near the small village of Yátor and has held alternative, sex-positive and ecological communities for over 26 years. The current owner has built warm, respectful relationships with local residents and the mayor, and we intend to keep nurturing those ties as we join the Alpujarra's thriving mix of spiritual and alternative communities.

How to Support the Vision

The organisers (the OrganizHadas) are asking the community and our allies for help. There are two main ways to give:

Direct Bank Transfer (Preferred): Free within the EU and SEPA countries, so 100% of what you give reaches the sanctuary fund.
Cotiz Up Crowdfunding: Easy online option, though Cotiz Up takes a 2% processing fee.

If donations alone don't get us to the goal, the organisers plan to invite community loans. And if the purchase falls through, your money will either be held for a future sanctuary or refunded in full, whichever you'd rather.
